- led the transformation of a rule-based malware detector used by 350M users to deep learning;
- led the AI architecture of an LLM-based scam analysis assistant, from conception to release;
- led the programme of human-centred digital safety, inventing new AI-based products;
- led explainability and rule-generation efforts in close collaboration with malware analysts;
- co-authored three US patents.

Teaching
Designed, organised and regularly lectured three courses for 100+ students, including Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (BE4B36ZUI in English, B4B36ZUI in Czech), FEE CTU, co-taught with Branislav Bošanský. Service
I have been on the editorial board of the Artificial Intelligence journal (AIJ) since 2015 and a regular programme committee member at AAMAS, IJCAI, AAAI, NeurIPS and ICML since 2013. I also review for IEEE TIFS, IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics and ACM TEAC. I was the main organiser of the AAAI Workshops on Computer Poker and Imperfect Information Games in 2016 and 2017.
Industry collaboration
Four and a half years in industry at Avast and Gen Digital (see Positions). Research grants from Cisco and Trend Micro as Principal Investigator. The work focused mostly on AI for cybersecurity: malware, scam and intrusion detection. Co-author of three US patents. AI and cybersecurity →
