Teaching

Teaching & supervision

I enjoy teaching the fundamentals of AI to students and helping young researchers find problems worth years of their lives.

Course

Introduction to Artificial Intelligence

BE4B36ZUI (English) · B4B36ZUI Základy umělé inteligence (Czech) · Faculty of Electrical Engineering, CTU in Prague · co-taught with Branislav Bošanský

A foundational course on the building blocks of intelligent agents, from search and games to decision-making under uncertainty and reinforcement learning.

All lectures are recorded and freely available on YouTube, for our students and for anyone who wants to learn the foundations of AI.

Supervision

Ph.D. and thesis supervision

I supervise Ph.D. students and postdocs in the Sequential Decision Making Group at the AI Center. My students work on multi-agent reinforcement learning, search in imperfect-information games, opponent modelling, RL for cybersecurity and LLM agents. They publish at venues such as IJCAI, AAAI, AAMAS and the Artificial Intelligence journal, and co-author with collaborators such as Michael Bowling, Neil Burch, Martin Schmid and Tuomas Sandholm.

Ph.D. graduates (advised or co-advised)

Looking for a thesis or Ph.D. topic?

I supervise bachelor's, master's and Ph.D. theses on:

  • LLM agents: in-context RL, memory, safety and security
  • multi-agent RL and search in imperfect-information games
  • AI for cybersecurity, education and science

Email me with a short CV and what excites you. If you have your own topic, even better.
